It's been awhile

It's been awhile since I have posted mainly because of my laziness and this virus I have been trying to kick. Here is an update on the Evans' lives..
  • Conquered two family recipes last week. One, totally from scratch pot roast in my beautiful LeCreuset. Seriously this thing is amazing. It was probably one of the top three roasts I have ever had. Trey even rated it a 9.5 which I was super excited about. I also made a super yummy sour cream chicken enchilada casserole which we ate on for dayyyyyyys. I was extremely proud of myself for making two meals that could feed us for more than one night.
  • We attended Trey's work Christmas party last Friday and it was a lot of fun. We met at his bosses house for drinks and then everyone went downtown to a five star restaurant for dinner. It was a beautiful restaurant in a renovated church. Trey ordered the Japanese kobe steak, and he was extremely impressed!
  • Although we did a lot of our Christmas shopping online, today I had to venture out into the madness of Houston to find some last minute items. Luckily I finished up the majority of it because I do NOT want to go to the mall again for a very long time after fighting the crowds and traffic that I fought today.
  • Trey and I will be off to see our families on Friday for a week, which we are both very excited about. There will be lots of pictures and posts to come after our visits!

Fun-Day Sunday Update!

I figured it was a time to update everyone on the exciting lives of the Evans Family so here is what we have been up to lately.
  • Trey has been awesome (but a little crazy) and getting up at 5:30 every morning to go work out. Way to go babe!
  • Thursday- I was able to go try out the gym with Erin, and I really like it. It's definitely the nicest gym I've ever been to.
  • Friday- Trey and I went over to the Helm's for dinner, and after Trey and Doug went to the Woodlands to play poker. I stayed behind and hung out with Erin and the kiddos. We got to watch So You Think You Can Dance which is definitely one of my favorite things to do of all time. Trey ended up winning BIG and won the entire tournament which was awesome! My sister came to town late that night as well, and it was her first trip to see us and our new apartment.
  • Saturday- Caitlin, Trey and I went to the mall. There were some great sales, especially Bath and Body Works who has the antibacterial soaps 4 for $10! After the mall, we took Caitlin out to lunch at Pappadeaux because that crazy girl had never been there! We definitely spoiled the college kid, but we remember what it was like to be broke so it was worth it. Caitlin helped us pick out new curtains for our bedroom as well as some awesome chargers. I was sad to see Caitlin leave but hopefully we will see her soon!
  • Today- Trey and I decided to try out the church that is literally across the street from our apartment. We both really liked it and it might be the one that we continue to go to. Both of us have agreed that we want to try several before we decide on our church home for sure. Also, today Trey and I joined the gym! That's right people we are getting healthy and in shape! I am super excited and my goal for the next few months is to get in good enough shape to run a 10k and not die. Today was great and I am really feeling like we are settling into Houston!
Just to make you smile here are some pictures of our puppies!

Here Goes Nothing

I have decided to start blogging so that I can keep all our friends and family updated on our lives. We are just getting settled into our apartment, and Trey is finally beating the flu. I am loving married life and am feeling so blessed each and every day to have such an amazing husband.
This post is short and sweet because I just wanted to see how the site works, but I promise there will be more exciting posts in the future!
